Winter Weather Advisory

Update: 2/16/21 - 3:40pm CST

This extreme weather event has been well beyond the utility design parameters for a typical or even extreme Texas winter that would normally be planned for. Please be aware of the following:

  • Widespread power outages are affecting every facet of normal life. Fuel processing plants where transport tankers load propane fuel have been shut down, reducing and/or eliminating our ability to receive fuel in our storage tanks. We expect the power outage to affect fuel delivery thru end of this week.
  • Please be aware that your propane appliances are impacted by the electricity outage. Electronic ignition systems switch the furnace or other appliance on, allowing gas to flow to the appliance. Internal safety designs in these appliances prevent gas flow when electricity is unavailable. When power is restored, please follow all manufacturer instructions for lighting pilots and restarting appliances.
  • Texas Community Propane, as well as all local and statewide utilities, continue to encourage conservation by voluntarily reducing your usage. Reducing your usage will allow continued service. Texas utility systems are stressed, creating a challenge for consistent service. In the event of a propane interruption, TCP will need access to your home for restoration.
  • Currently, all TCP subdivisions have capacity. We monitor tank levels on a continuous basis and, based on road conditions, deliver additional propane to storage tanks located in your subdivision. Some locations have reduced supply, and propane truck delivery has been impacted.
  • Please be advised that TCP propane supplies are not adequate without re-supply.

TCP sincerely appreciates your continued understanding and support as we work to provide continued service.

Safe Excavation Begins With You

It's FREE. It's EASY. It's the LAW!

When doing projects around your house, digging without knowing where underground utility lines are buried can be very risky. When underground lines are damaged, vital services and everyday conveniences can become disconnected, not only to your home but to entire neighborhoods and, sometimes, whole subdivisions.
